Abstract:

An activity about the origins of the Sierpinski triangle focused on teaching fractals. Mathematical Roots are hands-on, open-ended activities that encourage problem solving, reasoning, communication, and mathematical connections. Mathematical Roots is a regular feature of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School and highlights activities that develop conceptual understanding of mathematics topics. Includes ready-to-use activity sheets and answer keys.
