Supporting Teacher Learning: Lesson-Study Groups with Prospective and Practicing Teachers

Abstract:

This article discusses a lesson-study experience involving prospective and practicing teachers .  They were brought together to engage in the lesson-study process focusing on teaching mathematics within the context of classroom practice. The experiences shared enlightened both the pre-service and experienced teachers. The Supporting Teacher Learning department serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and a source of activities and pedagogical strategies for teacher educators in their day-to-day work with prospective and practicing teachers.
