Chapter 23: Conducting Mathematics Curriculum Research: Challenges and Insights. Paul Kehle (Hobart and William Smith Colleges) and Kelly McCormick (University of Southern Maine) reflect on the conduct of a large-scale longitudinal comparative study of TERC’s Investigations curriculum. While summarizing aspects of the study’s design, they identify issues and challenges encountered during its implementation in a period of emphasis on high-stakes testing. They share insights for future studies of curriculum that, they argue, must be highly integrated with examination of other facets of classroom learning.
