Riser (Delaware Mathematics Coalition) details the major characteristics of the Powerful Pedagogical Practices program, a five-year statewide effort aimed at transforming secondary mathematics in Delaware. Characteristics unique to the project included the selection and long-term (3+ years) retention of teams of teachers in grades 8–10 from nearly all Delaware public school districts, the strategic choice of addressing pedagogy before curriculum, and the ongoing engagement of key stakeholders including high school principals.
