    Moovin' and Groovin' with Reason

I am a passionate teacher who values the education of my students; one that truly cares about their futures. I respect my position and my educational ability to teach students in math. I am very concerned about the gap between our not-economically disadvantaged students (NED) and our economically disadvantaged (ED) sub group. The results from the 2015 CAASPP testing revealed that 28% of the ED group fell below standards in the area of Solving Real World Problems and 34% of the ED fell below standards in Communicating and Reasoning. I'd like to reinvent my classroom spaces into visually oriented, highly networked, interactive and social areas. I want to accommodate the increasingly mobile student that has a low tolerance to lecture-style teaching into one that's collaborative and invites movement. By creating a contemporary classroom I hope to reduce both learning gaps to 20% within one year of grant implementation.
