We Teach Mathematics and More
All students should have the opportunity to receive high-quality mathematics instruction, learn challenging grade-level content, and receive the support necessary to be successful.
Unfortunately, the reality is that students’ mathematics experiences can be of uneven quality at every level.
For many students who have been marginalized in their mathematics education, it is essential that we as teachers remain aware of our critical role in teaching and learning mathematics but also the inequities that often contribute to negative identities.
Every student brings their own perspective to the table. It's important to encourage your students to use what they know to build confidence and understanding.
We celebrate our diverse mathematics community and all educators who are working toward access, equity and empowerment for all students.
