    Instructions

    How to Use

    Use the red points to adjust the size and location of the rectangle.

    Buttons

    • Show/Hide Base and Height- will reveal those measurements (rounded to the thousandths).
    • Show/Hide Area- will reveal the area, rounded to the hundredths.

    Click and drag the measurements around the workspace as you wish.

    Exploration

    Before using any of the buttons, explore the following:

    • Knowing that the background is a cm. grid, how can you estimate the area of the rectangle?
    • What is the relationship between the base, height, and area of the rectangle?
    • Write down a real-world scenario that would require you to know the area of a rectangle.
