    Come join your friends at the Quotient Cafe, where all the food is served family style. Everyone sits at one table and shares the meal evenly. Use your division skills to figure out how much each character gets. Design your own situation with dinosaurs dividing waffles, penguins sharing apples, or many other situations.

    Home Screen

    From the home screen, create a problem by selecting the characters, items and what to do with any leftovers.

    • Choose characters (dogs, penguins, ninjas, dinosaurs, aliens) to divide items (waffles, apples, bagels, bones, worms).
    • Use the sliders to select the number of characters (1-50) and the number of items (1-500), or enter a number directly in each box.
    • The Random button will randomly select the characters, items, and number of each.
    • Choose an options to "leave extras on the table" or "divide the extra objects" will indicate whether to indicate a remainder (leave extras) or indicate a fraction that remains (divide extra).
    • Hit Start to move to the dividing screen.

    Dividing Screen 

    Successively estimate the number of items that each character should receive. For instance, if 305 worms are divided among 13 ninjas, you might proceed as follows:

    The calculator can be selected at any time to help with calculations.
    • Use the New button to choose new numbers.
    • Use the Reset button to start over with the same numbers.
