    This tool allows you to explore fractions, decimals and percents by creating fractions with denominators up to 100.

    Note that a revised version of this tool, Fraction Models, uses length, area, region and set models to represent fractions, decimals, and percents, though the denominators in that tool are limited to a maximum of 25.

    There are three models to choose from:

    1. Circle
    2. Rectangle
    3. Set

    How to Use

    • Once a model is chosen, use the sliders (click and drag, or use the up/down arrows on the left) to determine a value for the numerator and denominator.
    • As fractions are made, its value will be shown as a fraction, decimal, and percent.

    Additional Feature

    Toggle the "Show Sections" check box to show/hide division lines in the circle and rectangle mode.

    Exploration

    Choose any mixed or improper fraction. Draw what the circle, rectangle, and set model should look like before checking your work with the interactive.
