Reston, VA- January 8, 2024 - The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) announced that beginning in 2024, the NCTM Research Conference will run concurrently and fully integrate with the NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition.

“Linking research and practice continues to be foundational to the Council. Making these two events concurrent and bringing the two communities together not only broadens access to the important research in our profession, but it also provides the opportunity for researchers to learn from and with teachers and school and district leaders so we can better address our shared needs and challenges, leading to better learning and outcomes for each and every student.”
What does this mean for me?
If you are looking to submit a proposal for the 2024 Research Conference, the submission platform and process will remain unchanged, including the peer review procedures. The NCTM Research Committee is currently finalizing the proposal details, which will include research reports, symposiums, interactive discussions, poster sessions, as well as ways to showcase linking research and practice.
In addition, the 2024 Annual Meeting & Exposition and Research Conference will now have a single registration fee. This means your meeting registration will now give you access to both the Annual Meeting workshops and sessions as well as Research Conference offerings, allowing you to attend any session of interest to you for one price. In addition, early-bird rates for the Annual Meeting & Exposition will remain unchanged for 2024.

Short-term
The 2024 Research Conference is currently accepting Call for Proposals through February 28. Access the Proposal Submission Site.

2024 Annual Meeting & Exposition registration is expected to open in April. Sign up to be contacted when more information becomes available.
Longer-term
This integration is the next step to better support the connections between research and practice and form new collaboration opportunities between researchers and classroom teachers. Outcomes from the 2024 meeting will be used to guide discussions and planning for future events and content.
