Content and Learning Advisory Committee (CLAC)

  • Committee Charge

    The Content and Learning Advisory Committee (CLAC) is charged to:

    • Identify the needs (and wants) of the mathematics education community. Recommend new and existing resources to answer the needs of the community.
    • Invite and encourage the development of creators with diverse experiences and voices who are new to NCTM and look for potential content partnerships.
    • Scan and evaluate NCTM’s current library of content for possible revision, repurposing, and redistribution in new or different forms for NCTM members and customers.
    • Champion and support the marketing of NCTM products, programs, and services whenever possible and appropriate.
    • Advise the NCTM Consulting Editors program, which serves as an opportunity to attract and engage the NCTM membership to review proposals, articles, etc.
    • Support staff in the development of the catalog of NCTM offerings, including publications, professional development services, conferences, and program opportunities.
    • Develop and evaluate the guidelines for and implementation of NCTM content offerings in alignment with NCTM values to ensure high-quality experiences for participants/consumers and to assess return on investment.
    • Provide recommendations to program committees to ensure compatibility and coordination with overarching NCTM content strategy.

    The CLAC’s term year is from the close of the Annual Meeting to the close of the following year’s Annual Meeting.
